Kouros - Digital Collage - Museum-Quality Matte Paper Poster

I learned from the displays at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. I wandered the halls and galleries, photographing the sculptures of the human figure from many cultures across every continent. Historically, we have taken the sculptures of ancient cultures to be a representation of their ideals, what they deal as beautiful and what they see as the ultimate of humanity. I layered 100 photographs of these idealized sculptures, hoping to achieve an average of beauty; to see what the world and time aged ultimate is regarding beauty. I discovered that there is no average, every culture is diverse in its conceptions of aesthetics. Further proving in my mind that we are all beautiful, and that one man's trash is another man's treasure.
