I had the great privilege of painting a table top of my friend.. Her request was that it be calming, inspired by nature, and incorporate her favourite colours: blue and purple...
I started out by sanding a table, and priming it with a base coat of pink, as this would be complementary to the predominantly blue colour palette I had planned to work with. Then I poured acrylic paint and allowed it to dry for a few days.
Next I included a variety of birds, flowers, and patterns that have become familiar to us through our shared life in Lisbon, Portugal. Honestly, this table top was a challenge for me as I am not used to painting at such a small scale, and I found the practice of using tiny brushes to be perplexing. It took me almost a year from start to finish, there was a lot of staring and contemplating and the final product is so intricate and captivating.
I am already making my plans to create more similar to this.. If you want to make a custom request for a painted table top, send me a message! I am eager to create along these lines...
